摘要
A general emission equation, which contains as its asymptotic limits both the Richardson (thermal emission) and the Fowler Nordheim (field emission) equations, is developed. The general thermal-field equation performs over a range of temperatures, fields, and workfunction values where the asymptotes are degraded.
