摘要：

Transport properties and electronic nature have been investigated for delafossite-type PdxCoO2. PdxCoO2 has highly covalent CoO6 octahedra layers in the strongly correlated electron system, from the viewpoint of experimental and theoretical X-ray absorption spectroscopy. The sign of the thermopower of single-crystalline PdCoO2 is negative, while that of poly-crystalline PdxCoO2 is positive. This feature indicates that PdxCoO2 has large anisotropic character; the n-type conduction takes place in the intra-plane, while the p-type conduction takes place in the inter-plane.
