The Societe Hydrotechnique de France has published a series of hydrological yearbooks between 1939 and 1969 including daily flows observed at a subset of French gauging stations and technical contributions on several topics related to hydrology. The exact contents are not well-known and data available in the tables have not been digitized. The objectives of this article are to present the content of the hydrological yearbooks and the way time series were extracted and to identify additional historical data that may enrich the HYDRO database.
