Effect of yttrium on diffusion layer of Ni-Al-Mo-B alloy IC6 during high temperature oxidation process

摘要
A directionally solidified (DS) alloy IC6 is develop as a high temperature structural material used for advanced jet engine blades and vane operating in the temperature range of 1050-1150 degree centigrade. The high temperature oxidation resistance is improved by adding yttrium . This experiment is made to investigate the effect of yttrium on the diffusion layer. One of the beneficial effects is the slowing down of the increment of the depth of the diffusion layer during high temperature oxidation.
