摘要：

Cancer prevention is appealing because it obviates the complications of advanced cancer and cancer treatment, that are more common and more severe among the elderly. Our times provide unsurpassed opportunities for cancer prevention. In this article we review the effectiveness, the risks and the cost of cancer prevention and propose a decisional model for the institution of cancer prevention in older individuals.
