Tunable HM-CSIW based Self-Diplexing Antenna using Liquid Dielectric for Wireless Applications

摘要
This paper presents a frequency switchable substrate integrated self-diplexing antenna (SDA) using liquid dielectric. The antenna comprises of shielded half-mode circular substrate integrated waveguide (S-HM-CSIW) cavity, radiating slot, and feeding network. The proposed SDA can be frequency tuned by filling pockets with air or liquid. Based on the simulation results, the proposed model can be switched from 3.6 GHz to 3.94 GHz in lower band and from 4.8 GHz to 5.56 GHz in higher frequency bands, respectively. The proposed antenna has peak gains of 3.75 dBi and 4.42 dBi at 3.6 GHz and 4.8 GHz respectively, with distilled water-filled pockets. The HM-CSIW based SDA is designed on a 1.6 mm thick Rogers 5880 substrate (epsilon(r) = 2.2 and tan delta = 0.0012).This antenna has frequency reconfigurability, a simple design, and good isolation (>29.3 dB) compared to previous designs.
