摘要
This study sought to examine the growth trends and instability index in the area, production and productivity of flowers in India with a focus on Haryana and secondary data collected from the reports of the National Horticultural Board, India Stat and Hort Haryana from 2001-02 to 2020-21. The Cuddy Della formula was used to investigate the Instability Index (II). The results showed that the trends and growth rate in the area, production and productivity of flower crops in India were positive and significant. The findings revealed that CGR and instability indices in production, area and productivity were 8.01, 7.35, 0.88, 12.25, 10.21 and 7.11 per cent, respectively. In Haryana, the highest growth rate of marigold production was found in the districts of Gurugram (103.22) and Sonipat (95.49), along with low instability indices of 24.69 and 23.63 per cent, respectively and subsidized protected crop production technology and infrastructure to make floriculture lucrative and commercially feasible. There is a need to provide modern technical know-how about post-harvest handling and technical, practical training to flower growers and Floriculture Development Center will be established in Haryana.
