An existence and uniqueness result for the stationary energy-transport model in semiconductor theory

摘要
The steady-state energy-transport model for semiconductors consists of two strongly coupled nonlinear elliptic equations for the chemical potential and the temperature of the electrons. The equations are coupled selfconsistently to the Poisson equation for the electric potential. The existence and uniqueness of solutions is shown. The key of the proof is a transformation of the problem by means of the entropic variables, which symmetrizes the system.
