摘要
Inter area oscillations are common in power systems, where number of sources connected together with weak tie lines. These oscillations are undesirable and they reduce the efficient operation of grid. Damping of such inter area oscillations are more important while considering the grid stability. In this paper, we analyse the inter area oscillations in power systems and damping techniques with Unified power flow controller (UPFC) with Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) and Power Oscillation Damping (POD) controllers.
