摘要
Information extraction from polarimetric synthetic radar data has been limited by target orientation-induced scattering mechanism ambiguity. The existing methods are not able to fully compensate the data for the orientation of polarimetric scattering targets. In this paper, a new de-orientation processing methodology is presented that makes novel use of radar targets phenomenological theory to split off and effectively de-orient orientationally perturbed components of the target. In particular, a physical procedure is described to compensate orientation of elementary components of a distributed target using their independent orientation angles. Validation against fully polarimetric radar data shows significant agreement with the expected results based on the theoretical description.
