"Nature refuses to reveal easily the curtain of its secrets and the way to the targets of an inventor is paved with privations and destroyed hopes." With these words Viktor Kaplan summed up in 1925 the development of the turbine invented by him. Two Of his grandchildren took the opportunity of the jubilee "Hundred Years Kaplan Turbine" to illustrate the ups and downs of this great Austrian inventor's life.
