摘要
The infinite-dilution thermodynamic parameters of low-polarity nonmesogens were studied in an OPPB-BHBD system (OPPB is 4-n-octyloxyphenyl 4'-n-pentyloxybenzoate and BHBD is bis[2,2-di(n-hexyloxycarbonyl)ethenylphenyl] biphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate showing induced smectic A mesomorphism. Variation in these parameters with the nature of the nonmesogen and the composition and phase state of the liquid-crystal solvent was analyzed. Correlations between the thermodynamic, orientational, and selective properties of the smectic A phases induced by mixing of these two liquid crystals were revealed.
