摘要：

The topic of budget deficit is strongly debated not only at national level, but at international level too. The aim of this paper is to present the usefulness of different definitions of budget deficit in order to analyze the impact of fiscal policies. The option of choosing one of the definitions depends especially on the purpose of the analysis. This paper focuses on the definition of four different fiscal indicators that measure the budget deficit of Romania, and presents the evolution of these indicators in the last ten years.
