摘要
We present the results of PL measurements on Ni6+ heavy ions irradiated ruby samples of Indian origin at different fluence. PL spectra taken for pristine ruby and its two irradiated samples at room temperature show R-1, R-2, N lines and a broad band in spectra. The increase in intensities of these features in irradiated rubies with increase of Ni6+ ions fluence is discussed. Observed structural changes and modifications on surface of pre- and post-irradiated rubies with Ni6+ ion by atomic force microscopic technique are reported. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V.
