摘要
A down to earth approach: Environmental (from desert soil) DNA derived cosmid clones containing type II polyketide synthase genes were screened for their ability to produce clone-specific metabolites in Streptomyces. One of the Streptomyces recombinants produces erdacin (1), a polyketide with a previously unknown pentacyclic structure. © 2009 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
