摘要
This paper presents the organic synthesis of high quality Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) Quantum Dots (QDs). The size and morphology of quantum dots were analyzed from X-ray diffraction, Scanning electron microscopy. The functional groups attached and optical properties were analyzed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy respectively. The band gap of 3.35 eV of ZnSe QDs, effective mass approximation and photoluminescence blue shift further confirms the narrow size of particles. It can be concluded that organic synthesis method is quite competitive for the preparation of highly luminescent ZnSe QDs. The proposed method of ZnSe nanocrystal can be extended to a preparation of a more complex structure where the ZnSe core is consecutively capped with CdS and ZnS shells.
