摘要
Using neutron diffraction and Raman spectroscopy, it was shown that the introduction of 7 at.% Al or Fe into crystalline fullerene C-70 significantly increases its stability against transformation to disordered (amorphous-like) graphite when heated at temperatures of 500-1100 degrees C and a pressure of 2-8 GPa. In amorphous-like fullerene C-70, this effect is absent. An explanation is proposed based on the known data on increasing stability of fullerene molecules when placing metal atoms inside or outside of the fullerene cage. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V.
