New relation for the porosity dependence of the effective tensile modulus of brittle materials

摘要
The porosity dependence of effective tensile modulus of brittle materials was analyzed using a new relation. The new relation of brittle materials allowed for a critical porosity (percolation threshold) φC. The new relation was found to be the simplest one, which exhibited correct behavior in thr dilute limit, cf. The results show that the new relations were simple than the Phani-Niyogi relation because they retained the possible occurence of a critical volume fraction.
