摘要
A compact wideband eight-element multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna for 5G smartphone is proposed, which consists of two symmetrical four-element blocks (6.3x90.4 mm2) located on the two long sides of the smartphone. By meticulously arranging a grounded stub between two excitation ports of the adjacent elements, wide impedance bandwidth and high isolation are obtained simultaneously. Then a connect line is added for further decoupling so that four antenna elements can be combined together to form a block, contributing to the compact size. Simulated and measured results show that the -6 dB frequency band of the antenna is from 3.3 to 5.9 GHz, which can cover the 5G N77/N78/N79 (3.3-5 GHz) band and 5G-WIFI band (5150-5850 MHz), and the isolations between elements of the antenna are better than 10.5 dB in the operating band. Also, simulated results show that the total efficiency of the elements of the antenna is 45"/0-83%, and the envelop correlation coefficient (ECC) is less than 0.17.
