Effect of L-arginine on the laser damage threshold and SHG efficiency of the KDP crystals

摘要
Transparent potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) crystal doped with 0.3-1.4 wt % L-arginine (L-arg) amino acid in the solution was grown onto a point seed by the method of temperature reduction. The doping of the crystal has led to increased polarizability of KDP crystal and raised the efficiency of second harmonic generation by a factor of similar to 2.5 in the pyramidal growth sector in comparison with the corresponding characteristic of the pure crystal. Was showed that the bulk laser damage threshold of the samples of KDP:L-arg crystal was higher than the one of the pure crystal in the sector {101} and lower in the sector {100}.
