摘要
This work presents some results of attempt to apply earlier on developed extended modified Gaussian approximation utilization for computing dispersion parameters of arbitrary order guided modes propagating in weakly guiding non-symmetrical multimode optical fibers with arbitrary complicated graded refractive index profile. Fundamental mode as well as some higher-order guided mode parameter were estimated and matched with results of computation performed by rigorous mixed finite element method. Here 3D-structire of analyzed optical fiber was set by reports of refractive index profile measurements produced for sample of multimode optical fiber 50/125 of ISO/TIA Cat. OM2 carried out by commercially available equipment lab kit. Spectral curves of normalized propagation constants and mode delays computed over "O"-band by mentioned above rigorous and approximate methods expanded for analysis of non-symmetrical optical fibers with large core diameter and complicated refracted index profile are compared.
