Novel hollow core fibers prepared from lignin polypropylene blends

摘要
The preparation of hollow core fibers from lignin polypropylene blends was discussed. Lignin fibers for carbon fiber applications were developed through thermal spinning of lignin synthetic polymer blends. The optimal temperatures for the fibre production were obtained by slowly increasing the temperature until fiber formation occurred. Fiber spinning was then performed isothermally at that temperature. The spinning temperature was found closely related to the molten viscosity of polypropylene blends.
