摘要
Hegel's notion of the End of History and Nietzsche's Last Man are relevant to the historical impasse that Europe is experiencing today. Europe, indeed, seems to be caught in an endless repetition of its glorious past. In contrast to its immense former success, its arts and literatures reflect the exhaustion of European expressive possibilities. Edouard Glissant is well aware of Europe's tiredness. To overcome it, he proposes the opening of the Old Continent by Relation and the notion of All-World (Tout-Monde). Hegel's Minerva Owl, which took flight at dusk to enlighten the past's obscurities, can also fly away at dawn, towards a future of endless possibilities.
