摘要
The Public Service Motivation (PSM) is prosocial-oriented and altruism-oriented, encouraging the motivational tendency of serving for others and the society regardless of personal rewards. As a main reflection of values, motivation reveals one's value system. Those with different motivations reflect varied types of values. The most important content of one's value is the motivational type that concerns. Based on Schwartz's theories of individual's motivational types of values, this paper discusses that the intrinsic origin of PSM at the individual level is rooted mainly in the benevolence and universalism values, providing some references for cross-cultural researches of PSM in the future.
