摘要：

Nonverbal social interaction for virtual characters is very important for constructing virtual e-learning environment. Nonverbal social interaction is a direct communication manner for virtual characters. A cognitive architecture of nonverbal social interaction is presented in this paper, the architecture outlines high-level knowledge of virtual characters, some new concepts on nonverbal social interaction is set up. A virtual character has the ability of social interaction with other virtual characters by the method.
