摘要
Academic librarians seldom view their organizations through the political frame. Yet, strong political skills are necessary for organizational effectiveness and career success. Using the Political Skills Inventory, survey data were collected in February 2020 from 260 U.S. academic librarians. Respondents scored in the average range on the PSI. Multiple linear regression revealed that length of service as a librarian, supervisory role, and structural frame score significantly influenced respondents' PSI scores with a modest effect size. Honing their political skills will enable academic librarians to influence organizational decisions and forge new roles for librarians.
