A K-Band Low-cost Phase Shifter for Short-Range FMCW Radar Applications

摘要
In this paper, a printed circuit board realization of a K-band low-cost phase shifter for short-range FMCW radar is presented. The idea of the phase shifter comes from the vector modulator technique, which based on the concept of vector sum. The proposed phase shifter is consist of a Wilkinson power divider, a quadrature power divider, two DC-blocks and two binary-phase-shift attenuators. Simulated results shows that it is possible to adjust the phase and amplitude simultaneously by changing the bias voltages of the attenuators, and the phase-shift range is 360 degrees. The proposed phase shifter use only four PIN diodes, which achieves low cost, as well as, features continuous phase and amplitude control. PCB of the phase shifter and FMCW radar RF circuit are processed, and further tests are needed.
