Chronic Buttock Pain Alleviated with Platelet-Rich Plasma: A Case Report

摘要：
Background: Given the potential to augment tissue repair and regeneration, platelet-rich plasma [PRP] has been advocated to treat hamstring injuries. Findings: The present report details the case of a 34-year-old physically fit male who presented with chronic pain, localized in the left buttock. This pain had persisted for 3 years. The patient consulted multiple physicians, exhausted conservative treatment modalities, and underwent lumbar laminectomy without success. When treated with a single PRP injection, the patient had significant improvements in pain and quality of life. Conclusion: A single PRP injection has potential to treat hamstring injuries and restore pre-injury function in athletes.
