In this study, hyperbranched aromatic polyimide was prepared via a polyamic acid methyl ester precursor which was prepared by self-polycondensation of and ABx type monomer. The resulting hyperbranched aromatic polyimide had no cross-linked structure and exhibited good solubility in NMP, DMF, and DMSO, while retaining good thermal stability.
