Signal amplification by four-wave mixing in low-dispersion optical fibers

摘要
Energy conversion from two pump waves into a middle-frequency weak signal wave due to four-wave mixing in low-dispersion fibers is analyzed numerically and experimentally. Energy conversion of 20% is possible under realistic conditions, limited by fiber attenuation, high-order dispersion and pump depletion. (C) 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
