摘要
Evidence obtained during an investigation of ethylene epoxidation over unsupported silver powder and Ag-Cs/alpha-Al2O3 is used to present the hypothesis that some surface sites responsible for epoxidation may deactivate under some (but not all) experimental conditions as a consequence of surface carbon deposition and/or mild surface reconstruction facilitated by surface carbon.
