The research study offers an analysis of the public opinion of the citizens of the Slovak Republic focused on selected issues of the future of the European Union. It responds to recent events in recent years, whether it was a migratory crisis, terrorist attacks, brexit in the UK, Greek debt, which, on the one hand, caused serious political and economic problems that could jeopardize the future of the functioning of the EU in its present form on the other hand, have had a significant impact on the current views, attitudes, preferences and values of the Slovaks on the future of the Union. The survey conducted by the Slovak public opinion showed, among other things, that the Slovaks still demanding trust in the EU and the optimistic perception of its future remain prevalent among the Slovaks. The Slovaks are not afraid of the disintegration of the EU after the United Kingdom's coming out of the Union, believing in enlargement with other European states, yet they do not want to establish a joint European army or the European Union in the form of the United States of Europe.
