摘要：
The article focused on estimation the changes in the banking efficiency of the Czech commercial banks during the period 2003-2012. The Malmquist index of efficiency change was applied on the data of the Czech commercial banks. The positive efficiency change (1 % per year) was estimated in the Czech banking sector during the analysed period.The reason of this growth in banking efficiency was the progress in operation and management of the Czech commercial banks. In contrast, technological progress has a negative impact on the efficiency change in the Czech banking sector.
