摘要
It is shown that elliptic air heres can be used effectively as inclusions to obtain a large complete band gap for two-dimensional photonic crystals. An instructive procedure of how one quickly finds the optimal configuration which gives the maximum complete band gap is described. [S0163-1829(99)12839-X].
