摘要
Mass-energy distributions of the Ra-220 fission fragments produced in the C-12+Pb-208 reaction at projectile energies higher and deep below the Coulomb barrier have been measured using a two-arm time-of-flight spectrometer CORSET. It has been shown that an asymmetric component appears at the sides of the prevailing symmetric fission with a cooling of the compound nucleus. The component consists of two standard modes with average masses of similar or equal to 132 and similar or equal to 139. A three-component structure has also been observed in the total kinetic energy distributions in the range of asymmetric fission fragment masses. [S0556-2813(99)50909-6].
