摘要
The concept of the passively moving wall for skin-friction reduction is also valid for the reduction of the form drag generated from a bluff-body flow. A schematic of the sliding belt device installed in a circular cylinder to realize the sliding wall concept is presented. The amount of total drag reduction is linearly proportional to the magnitude of the terminal belt velocity and nonnegligible drag reductions are obtained.
