Poly [9-methyl-9-(4-cyanobutyl)fluorene] - Synthesis towards water-soluble polyfluorenes

摘要
In this article poly[9-methyl-9-(4-cyanobutyl)fluorene] (MBCN-PF), a new polyfluorene derivative, as an intermediate for water-soluble polyfluorenes has been synthesized by chemical polymerization using FeCl3 as oxidizing reagent. MBCN-PF can be easily dissolved in common organic solvents such as CHCI3 and THF. The polymer has been characterized by FTIR, H-1-NMR, C-13-NMR, UV-vis spectroscopy, FL, GPC and CV. MBCN-PF emits intense blue light upon UV excitation. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
