摘要
Basically, UWB (3.1GHz to 10.6GHz) applications require small size printed antennas for transmitting and receiving of UWB signals. However, designing small size printed antennas with good performance is quite a challenging task. In this paper, we introduce a simple and small size planar monopole antenna for UWB applications. Proposed UWB antenna is covering 10dB return loss frequencies ranging from 2.64GHz to 13.20GHz. This design is achieving a maximum gain of 5.27dBi at 9.5GHz. Proposed antenna dimensions are 30mmx30mmx1.6mm with FR 4 as a dielectric substrate. Because of small size and good performance, proposed UWB design can be used in many applications like spectrum sensing in Cognitive radio, RF energy harvesting, wireless body area networks, 4G, wireless telemetry and telemedicine. Experimental results show that, there is a good agreement between simulated and measured antenna results.
