摘要
The habituation-dishabituation procedure is the most prominent method to test visual and cognitive competencies in infancy. According to the cognitive perspective, both the habituation and the dishabituation behavior of infants allude to basic information processing abilities. Hence, the habituation-dishabituation performance in the first year of life should correlate significantly with intelligence test scores in later childhood. However, a sufficient reliability of the predictor is an important precondition for a high predictive validity. This meta-analysis investigates the reliability of both habituation and dishabituation measures. Furthermore, factors affecting the size of reliability are explored.
