摘要
The article explores the differences in listeners' perception of nonmainstream music styles, uncovering the influence of the music context on their responses. To tackle this problem, the Moodo dataset-which links emotional and color perception to music, and includes user context-is used. Our focus is on two parts of the dataset that were not previously analyzed: a collection of Slovenian folk songs and a collection of electro-acoustic music pieces. The analysis of user responses to these non-mainstream music styles revealed strong induced emotions, not otherwise present in more mainstream genres. We show how this knowledge can be applied to the development of every-day music applications.
