CINEMA AND EDUCATION: WHAT RELATIONSHIP IN THE INTERNET AGE?

In this text we reflect on the relationship between cinema and education, namely by looking at the contribution of the cinema to the learning processes in the present society. Moreover, we analyze how the cinema has been relating to the educational pedagogy, and how its integration in the educational contexts has evolved according to the new paradigms of teaching and lifelong learning. By considering the relationship between cinema and education in the context of today's digital lifestyles, taking into account the phenomenon of transmedia and media convergence, we can conclude that in contemporary society the cinema continues to have a great pedagogical potential, since it is easy to access to information through audiovisual stimuli, but also because this type of content assumes an increasing and transversal importance in the different digital media and platforms.
