The Effect of the Lanthanide Ion-Type in LnFeO3 on the Catalytic Activity for the Hydrogen Evolution in Acidic Medium

摘要
LnFeO(3) (Ln = La, Nd, Sm and Gd) were prepared by microwave-assistant citrate method and characterized by XRD and SEM. The electrocatalytic activity toward hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) was investigated by Tafel polarization and impedance measurements. The order of the electrocatalytic activity was NdFeO3 > LaFeO3 > SmFeO3 > GdFeO3, according to the calculated values of the activation energy. The reaction order and the reaction mechanism for all the prepared perovskites were identified. In addition, the effect of the partial substitution at the Lanthanide-site in La1-ySmyFeO3 was also studied.
