QoS-adaptive real-time multimedia transmission over Bluetooth channels

摘要
Real-time multimedia transmission over wireless channels is a challenging work due to the characteristics of low bandwidth, high bit error rate and fading of wireless links. This paper addresses several important issues of transmitting real-time multimedia over Bluetooth wireless channels, including Bluetooth framework, video/audio codecs and adaptive QoS control mechanism. In order to achieve end-to-end QoS over Bluetooth, we present a QoS-adaptive control scheme, which adjusts the video and audio quality according to the dynamically monitored Bluetooth channel status. A remote monitoring system based on Bluetooth technology is designed and implemented to testify the proposed scheme. End-to-end QoS over Bluetooth channels can be achieved in our system.
