摘要：

Genome haploidization involves two meiotic divisions following a single round of DNA replication. In this issue of Developmental Cell, Arguello-Miranda et al. (2017) show that production and packaging of the single-copy genome into gametes during the second meiotic division is coordinated by a conserved casein kinase 1.
