摘要
We present a least square (LSQ) based method for reconstructing the orbital velocity field (OVF) of ship wake from available wake elevation. The method first reconstructs the surface geometry of the wake by monochromatic waves over some specified range of wavelengths and propagating angles. Then, using the same expansion coefficients, the OVF of the wake can be reconstructed via a linear superposition of the OVFs of monochromatic waves. The new algorithm is easy to implement in SAR imagery and is particularly suitable for numerical wake where the OVF is usually not available.
