摘要
Lots of seismic damage examples and seismic resistance studies indicate that soil layer construction has great effect on the seismic response of ground. The seismic response characteristics of tank as a fluid-solid coupling system influenced by soil layer construction on seismic response of tank is the investigative objective of this paper. The time history analytic method is used to analyze the seismic response of eight standing tanks on two ground models that have the same seismic parameters but different soil layer sequence. It is shown that soil layer construction has great effect on the responses of both ground and tank, and the bigger the volume of tank is, the greater the effect is. The effect of soil layer construction on the seismic resistance design of buildings and constructions should be taken into account when the ground is classified.
