Effect of Fe Substitution for Ti on the Structural and Magnetic Properties of Half-metallic Ferromagnet Co2TiSn

摘要
We report the effect of Fe substitution on the structural and magnetic properties of quaternary Heusler alloys Co2Ti1-xFexSn. These alloys with varying Ti to Fe ratio (x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) are found to crystallize in well-ordered L2(1) structure. The saturation magnetization value is found to increase with increasing Fe concentration and is in close agreement with the Slater-Pauling rule, which is a prerequisite for half-metallic ferromagnetic materials. The Curie temperature is also found to increase with Fe concentration and lies above the room temperature for all the compositions under study.
