Rare-earth metal triflates in organic synthesis

摘要：
Several useful organic transformations using conventional Lewis acids were repeated with rare earth metal triflates. In particular, catalytic amounts of rare-earth metal triflates were successfully used, while stoichiometric amounts of conventional Lewis acids were employed in many cases. It becomes a common practice to test rare-earth metal triflates in both the known and some new reactions. These properties will lead to really environmentally friendly chemical processes using rare-earth metal triflates as catalysts.
