摘要
Different populations of Foeniculum vulgare contain 10-nonacosanone as a specific chemical marker. Foeniculum vulgare subsp. piperitum is characterized by the presence of rotundifolone. p-Butylanisole is present in traces in fennel which contains a large amount of trans-anethole. A chemical classification based on the amount of estragole, trans-anethole limonene and fenchone is proposed for the different varieties and chemotypes of F. vulgare subsp. vulgare.
