摘要
Increasing social complexity among the prehistoric Hohokam of southern Arizona after A.D. 1150 was associated with an increase in women's workloads; greater variablity in domestic architecture, creating differential access to community activity; the presence of dual prestige hierarchies for males and females; and greater status differentiation among adult females. The products of women's labor served as. foundation for emerging differentiation in wealth and prestige during the Classic period, with women potentially wielding considerable influence because of men's dependence on them for productive activities.
